Cabinet Secretariat’s Center for Government Translator and Interpreter Development (Pusbinter) on Thursday (25/11) held an evaluation meeting on 2021 Government Translator Development Program at Aviary Hotel in South Tangerang City, Banten Province.
The meeting also discussed competency test for Indonesian Government translators and interpreters (known as “Functional Official of Translators/Interpreters” or PFPs) as one of promotion requirements.
Cabinet Secretariat as the fostering agency of Indonesian Government translators and interpreters is expected to provide objective evaluation on the competence and work performance of each PFP so that every ministry/agency can have qualified PFPs that are in accordance with their level, Deputy to Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs Farid Utomo said in his written remarks as quoted by Pusbinter Head Sri Wahyu Utami during the meeting.
For the record, the competency test is in line with the Law Number 5 of 2021 and the Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2020 on the Amendment to the Government Regulation Number 11 of 2021 on the Promotion. Based on the regulation, the competency test aims to measure PFP’s translation competence.

Farid also said that it is important to held this evaluation meeting so that Cabinet Secretariat can provide ideal, appropriate competency test for PFPs. (DND/UN) (AP/EP)
