President Jokowi Introduces Indonesia’s G20 Presidency Priority Agendas

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (12/13) hosted the US Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken in a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

During the meeting, President Jokowi talked about a number of priority agendas of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.

“The Government hopes that the US can be one of Indonesia’s economic partners. In the President’s delivered remarks on bilateral partnership including investment affairs, the Government also expressed its hopes to be a part of global supply chain for health sector,” Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said after accompanying the Head of State at the meeting.

Regarding the issue, the US, Retno added, is very welcome to Indonesia’s initiative to participate in global supply chain for health sector.

On that occasion, Retno added that President Jokowi also expressed gratitude for supports given by the US to Indonesia during COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the US is committed to strengthening partnership with Indonesia in economic and infrastructure investment sectors.

Retno further said that the US is Indonesia’s partner and the Government will continue to build strategic trust with all countries and all Indonesia’s partners.

“Strategic trust is fundamental to build a mutually beneficial, respectful cooperation. This strategic trust is also required to build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous world and Indonesia has a strong commitment to contribute in building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous world,” she remarked.
